Where are male hormones produced in the male body?

Male hormones, primarily testosterone, are produced in the testes. The testes are the male reproductive organs that not only play a crucial role in the production of sperm but also in the secretion of male hormones. This process is vital for the development of male secondary sexual characteristics such as increased muscle mass, body hair, and a deeper voice.

While the pituitary gland and adrenal glands do have roles in hormonal regulation, they do not produce the primary male hormones like the testes do. The pituitary gland secretes hormones that stimulate the testes to produce testosterone, but it is not the site of testosterone production itself. Similarly, adrenal glands produce a variety of hormones, including some androgens, but the bulk of male hormone production occurs in the testes.
